OCT Internship Form
The Office of Cable Television (OCT)
is accepting applications for student internships. The OCT internship
program is designed to educate and provide experience to students
in the areas of television production and business organizational
skills. Academic credit may be earned for satisfactory completion
of the internship program. Academic credit will be applied pursuant
to all rules and standards required by the institution in which
each student is enrolled. Students will be expected to participate
in the program for no less than 12 hours per week and no more than
20 hours per week.
OCT is a District of Columbia Government agency that operates under the Executive Office of the Mayor.
The agency is responsible for regulating cable television and similar video system operators in the
District of Columbia.
OCT operates and manages two government cable channels, TV-13 and DCN.
TV-13 provides gavel-to-gavel coverage of the live and recorded activities of the DC Council and its
various committees. DCN provides information on the many programs, services, and opportunities made
available by the District of Columbia Government. DCN also features Mayoral press conferences, District
Government agency developments and exciting feature programming spotlighting the future of Washington.
TV-13 and DCN are available within the basic channel line-up for cable systems operated
in the District of Columbia.
